The first week of its run has merely come to an end and the Mumbai Metro has started giving commuters painful ride.
On Saturday evening a bird hit one of the overhead wires at Marol station, causing trains to ply late by more than half an hour.
According well placed Mumbai Metro One Private Limited (MMOPL) sources a bird hit had occurred at the Marol station towards Ghatkopar and there was a spark that was noticed at the overhead wires and rains exacerbated it, hence as a preventive measure the services were discontinued for more over half an hour on both sides.
A few commuters had to disembark at Sakinaka stations and took to roadways to reach their destinations on time.
