BJP dissidentSubhashMaharia decides to contest as an Independent

All is not well with the BJP. There is a simmering pang of discontentment among the Advani loyalists. Many feel they are sidelined due to their proximity with the former union Home Minister, LK Advani.
Recently, one of its farmer leadersand KisanMorcha VP from Rajasthan, SubhashMaharia has been denied ticket from Sikar. He has decided to contest as an independent from there.
Maharia's statement followed close on the heels of seasoned politicoJaswant Singh's decision to contest as an independent from Barmer after being ‘snubbed’ a party ticket. However, the party senior leader NitinGadkari was unavailable for his comment.
Peeved by the party’s attitude, he reportedly retorted, ‘ Dissidence among party workers is brewing in Sikar as a leader from neighboring Haryana, who has little to do with any of 8 assembly segment in Sikar Parliamentary constituency is being forced down our throat.’
Maharia is a well-known leader here who enjoys huge support of SarvSamajMahapanchayat. Hewould file nomination on March 26. "A mass rally was held recently here where people from all castes and religious denominations participated and aired their confidence in me. They categorically rejects Swami Sumedanand, the official choice of the BJP from Sikar’, he said.
The rued politico said the Mahapanchayat has formed 1725 committees of 50 people each across the eight assembly segments to ensure that he wins.
