One day after the death of veteran Bengali actor and former TMC MP Tapas Paul due to cardiac arrest, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday blamed BJP-led government for his death. Claiming that the Centre's harassment led to the death of Pal, Banerjee said he was incarcerated for 13 months, but no one knew what a crime he committed. "People are being detained, but central authorities have been unable to prove their involvement or to determine what crime they have committed. If someone commits a crime, they have to face punishment, but we still do not know what crime Tapas Pal and others have committed," she said.
