Union Home Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah said Friday that the BJP will not back down even one inch on the issue of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), even though all opposition parties have come together to ' spread disinformation ' against it. "Even if all of these parties come together, BJP won't move back even an inch on this question of the Citizenship Amendment Act. You can spread as much disinformation as you want," Shah said at a rally in Jodhpur on Friday.

Shah also hit the Congress for their recent fiasco of disrespecting Vinayak "Veer" Damodar Savarkar, a Hindutva ideologue admired by both the BJP and the new ally of Congress, Shiv Sena, on several counts. "Against a great personality like Veer Savarkar, Congress Party speaks for voting-bank politics. Congressmen should be ashamed of themselves," he said.
