BJP's Giriraj Singh asks why all terrorists belong to one community, stokes controversy again

Once again, the BJP’s senior leader Griraj Singh raked up controversy by asking why all terrorists belonged to one community.  It came barely a month after his divisive comments demanding Narendra Modi baiters go to Pakistan.

"My intention is not to say that each person from a community is a fanatic. But when all those detained are from one community, why are secular parties silent," Giriraj Singh asked.

"Kashmiris acquire property everywhere in the country. There must be a plebiscite on Article 370. The people should decide whether the Article is valid today in India," he added.

Singh already has a police case against him for his earlier hate speech during the election campaign. He had surrendered in a district court and was later granted bail in a case of alleged hate speech lodged in Patna earlier this month.

Singh, a former minister in the Nitish Kumar government, had triggered controversy during an election meeting in Jharkhand's Deoghar district on April 19, saying that those who opposed Narendra Modi should go to Pakistan. Three FIRs were lodged against him at Deogarh, Bokaro and Patna for his hate speeches.

The Jharkhand High Court had earlier granted him bail in the case registered with Bokaro police station.
