Bombay High Court gets new ASG

Advocate Anil Singh appointed as the ASG (additional solicitor general) for the Bombay high court. Singh was the chief of Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa in 2011 and been a special empanelled counsel for the Centre.

In 2012 the HC full house designated him a senior counsel and he now has the task of representing and assisting the Centre and its various ministries and bodies in the HC in ongoing or fresh legal cases. The law ministry disclosed on Wednesday that Singh has been appointed the ASG for Western region. 

Singh, Known for his quiet manners, maintains a low profile and worked hard at elevating standards at the Bar Council.  He has appeared as government and BMC counsel in various public interest and property matters over the years.
