New Delhi: More than 350 people were detained in Delhi on Friday for attempting to organize a demonstration outside Uttar Pradesh Bhavan against alleged police excesses in the state during the unrest over the Citizenship (Amendment) Act or CAA, as well as demonstrations outside Jama Masjid after weekly prayers passed without incidents involving heavy deployment of security personnel. Keeping in mind the clashes that erupted last Friday, December 20th in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh following prayers, a tight security cover was clamped on sensitive areas to deter potential troublemakers.
