Lucknow: The government of Uttar Pradesh has put the state on high alert and blacked out Internet connectivity in 12 districts over concerns about further protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act after the prayers of Friday. The Internet connectivity was suspended in western Uttar Pradesh's Bijnor, Bulandshahar, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Agra, Firozabad, Sambhal, Aligarh, Ghaziabad, Rampur, Sitapur and Kanpur. In Agra, Internet services will be suspended from 8 am to 6 pm on Friday. In sensitive areas of Gorakhpur, police took out a flag march and held meetings with peace committees in all areas of the circle and police station.
