Campa Cola: Residents riled, refuse to move
With the prospect of demolition looming large, the residents of the Campa Cola society have decided not to shift. Despite their defiance, the BMC will cut off the electricity and gas supply to these flats on June 17, the incensed residents said that they won’t vacate their flats.

Nandini Mehta, a resident of the controversial Campa Cola Compound, said, "We will handle it as it comes. But even if they do, we will still keep living here."

The residents received support from Rajya Sabha member and president of RPI, Ramdas Athawale along with his supporters visited the society and asked them to not vacate their flats even after they are given the notice by the BMC. He also promised the presence and support of RPI members on the 17th June, when the BMC comes to take action.

"My party will stand by these people because I know it isn't their fault. They have paid and bought these houses. The state government has the power to change the SC order and give relief to the Campa Cola residents just like they changed the SC order in the dance bar case. The SC has not said to demolish the flats. It has asked the state government and the BMC to find a solution to the issue, something that they aren't doing," said Athawale
