Celebrations break out at BJP headquarters

Dancing on drumbeats, chanting slogans, bursting firecrackers and distributing laddus, hundreds of BJP workers gathered at the party headquarters here Friday morning to celebrate the predicted landslide victory in the Lok Sabha polls.
Armed with portrait photos of the party's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and wearing the party's saffron caps, the crowd raised slogans of 'Har Har Modi' and 'Bharat Mata ki jai'.
Hundreds of boxes of laddus were distributed among the gathered crowd, including the hundreds of police personnel and dozens of media persons camped since early morning at its party headquarters in 11, Ashoka Road.
A sea of the national tri colour and party flags was seen all over the headquarters while songs praising Modi played in the background.
"This is a historic event. The party has never won so many seats and the credit goes to Modi. The hardwork has paid off," said Manish Batra, a 24-year-old, who had come from old Delhi's Chandni Chowk area to celebrate the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) victory.
