Cong fires fresh salvo at Federal Front

The Congress, smarting under the shock of Narendra Modi taking over the charge of BJP’s poll campaigns, derided the fresh moves for formation of a Federal Front saying parties talking about it have no relevance outside their states.
"There is no possibility of any Third Front or Fourth Front. At this juncture, the political scenario in the country does not give any positive sign for any such front. These are
state-specific parties. They have no relevance outside their states", party spokesman Shakeel Ahmed said. He was responding to questions on the possibility of emergence of a Federal Front, an idea floated by Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee and which appears to be gaining momentum amid talk of JD-U all set to walk out of NDA and parties like Trinamool and BJD supporting the formation of a non-Congress, non-BJP front.
The Congress also took a dig at leaders like Nitish and Naveen for their demand for special status for their states asking "what they did they do get special status for their states when they were Central ministers"? Rejecting the charge of "political discrimination" in the grant to states saying the UPA does not discriminate on the basis of political parties while giving money to states.
