'Congress yet to finalise seat or state for Azhar'

The Congress was yet to finalise the state from where former Indian cricket skipper Mohammad Azharuddin would contest the coming Lok Sabha polls as besides West Bengal, states like Maharashtra also want him as a candidate.
"In West Bengal, we have set aside a couple of seats from which Azhar can be in fray if the high command gives the green signal. There is a demand from Maharashtra too that he should be fielded from the western state. Some other states also want him as a candidate," said state Congress chief Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury.
Chowdhury said Azhar had earlier told him in the Lok Sabha that he would like to contest from West Bengal. "I had then told him it would be great. But so far the matter has not been finalised," said Chowdhury.
Azhar is now a Congress MP from Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh.
