CR to get 19 escalators

Here’s some good news for Central Railway(CR) commuters. Dadar, LTT, Ghatkopar, Kurla, Kalyan and Lonavala and Bhandup are expected to get new escalators. Informs AK Singh, PRO of CR, “Dadar, LTT and Thane will get four escalators each,
while Ghatkopar, Kalyan and Lonavala will get two each. Work on this will start soon. Also within the next two weeks the Vikhroli escalator will start functioning.” This brings relief to commuters especially from Ghatkopar who are witnessing huge crowds after the Metro station was put into service, according to official figures the footfall at Ghatkopar has gone up from 2 lakh to nearly 5 lakh everyday.
