Here is some good news for Central Railway(CR) commuters. After the DC-AC switch over commuters travelling on local train will be able to buy paperless suburban train tickets through a mobile app. Even though commuters can buy a ticket from Unreserved Ticketing System mobile app even now, they have to visit the smart card-operated ATVMs to get a printout by flashing the bar code received on the handset. Informs a CR official, “From August we will start issuing virtual tickets.” Remarks Sadanand Patil a commuter from Dadar, “This will not only save our time, but it will make things easier. CR should have done this long back.”
