A 26-year-old Marathi actress has filed a case with the police, alleging that a casting director took her to Shirdi to sign a contract for a forthcoming show and physically abused her in her hotel room. He had also allegedly promised her a role in telly soap.

The Borivli police has registered a case against him and investigations are on.

According to police sources, the casting director, Sameer Bhosle (30), who was looking for actors for a television programme called ‘Sambhaji’, assured the victim, who has essayed roles in a plenty of Marathi serials, of being considered.

"This happened on July 26 in Shirdi, where the accused Bhosle allegedly molested the model in her room. We are validating the alleged incidents now and will take proper steps in this case,”

Officials said that in her statement, the model has complained that Bhosle took her to Shirdi to finalise the contract for a role in the show. In Shirdi, they both booked rooms in a hotel. After molesting her in her room, Bhosle allegedly locked her up.

Somehow, she managed to escape his dragnet and came to Mumbai and registered the case on July 29 with the Borivli police, she informed.

Bhosle has been booked under IPC sections 354A (molestation) and 363 (kidnapping). The accused has not been arrested yet, and police say they are still corroborating statements with the help of call detail records, to check the location of the accused on the day of the incident.
