Dissent is the essence of democracy, but no one can speak against the nation, said Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu Monday. Speaking at Goa University's 32nd annual convocation function, Naidu also said corruption was eating into the vitals of democracy and that more steps needed to be taken to fight the evil. Commenting on the social evils of terrorism and corruption, Naidu said: "Terrorism is completely eradicated. Corruption is creeping into the vitalities of the economy and society. Steps are being taken now, but much more needs to be done."
