Diwali, celebrated in Mumbai with great enthusiasm, illuminates the city with vibrant lights, symbolising the triumph of light over darkness. This joyous festival, known as ‘The Festival of Lights’, typically falls in October or November.

On this day, Mumbai residents—Hindus in particular—clean and adorn their homes, light fireworks, and exchange presents and sweets. Families get together for puja in the evening, praying to Lakshmi – the Goddess of Wealth.

Street markets are crowded with people purchasing traditional clothing and holiday décor.

Mumbai celebrates Diwali as a time of unity, joy, cultural richness, and tradition.
