Chennai: The DMK's D M Kathir Anand won over 8,000 votes in the Lok Sabha elections in Tamil Nadu's Vellore. This victory took the tally of the party to 38 in the state. The AIADMK began in the morning on a high note and led in the first few rounds until the gap was closed by the DMK.

The elections for the Vellore Lok Sabha seat  in Tamil Nadu were contested by as many as 28 candidates.
