Media Eye News Bureau: The centre is set to link driving licences to Aadhar.  Other welfare programmes and financial services are already linked to Aadhaar. The Supreme Court stated that the aim of this move was to find out fake licenses and that a software to connect licenses is being prepared as well.

A report from the committee on road safety, headed by former Supreme Court judge Justice KS Radhakrishnan stated, “This software will cover all the states on real time basis and it will not be possible for anyone to get duplicate or fake licence anywhere in the country.”

A report filed in the top court said that the National Informatics Centre is preparing the software called ‘Sarthi-4’ for the same as well.
