In connection with its money-laundering probe involving Air India during the UPA rule, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) called former Union minister P Chidambaram.  P Chidambaram, a former finance minister and senior leader of the Congress, was told to depose before the ED on August 23. According to sources, the case pertains to losses suffered by Air India due to an alleged multi-crore aviation scam. The case affects Air India's losses owing to an alleged multi-crore aviation scam. The scam is claimed to involve a number of irregularities including the 2007 merger between Air India and Indian Airlines.
