Bus from Andhra Pradesh with about forty passengers was travelling from the temple town of Pandharpur to Shirdi when it met with an accident.

The accident took place at Kavitgaon in Sholapur district of Maharashtra early on October 7.

Eight persons died in the accident and fifteen others were injured. All the pilgrims hail from the Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh. 

The Governor of Maharashtra, Vidyasagar Rao, has directed the district administration of Solapur to extend all possible help to the victims of the bus accident .Governor has expressed grief over the death of pilgrims in the accident and has wished speedy recovery to the injured.
