Expelled AAP legislator to go on hunger strike

Expelled AAP legislator Vinod Kumar Binny will begin a hunger strike here Monday to protest against the Delhi government, who he alleges of not implementing the party's pre-poll promises.
The Aam Aadmi Party's disciplinary committee Sunday expelled Binny for publicly making false statements against the party and its leadership. Binny will begin his protest at Jantar Mantar – in the heart of the national capital – after meeting with Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung.
"I was told by the media that I have been expelled from the party. However, I have not been communicated about it either through mail or through a letter," he told reporters.
Binny, who defeated A.K. Walia, the health minister in the previous Sheila Dikshit government, from the Laxmi Nagar assembly constituency in east Delhi, had attacked his party's government for allegedly backtracking on the promises made in the election manifesto.
