S.M.H Burney, a former bureaucrat and former governor of Haryana, has passed away, family sources said Saturday.

 

 Burney, who was the information and broadcasting ministry secretary during the Emergency, died at his home here Friday night, the sources said.

 

 He also served as chairman of the National Commission for Minorities.
