After many years the fulfilment of driving your vehicle without paying toll has come. Taking a step towards fulfilling his party's promise to make Maharashtra toll-free, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday announced the closure of 12 toll plazas in the state while exempting private light motor vehicles and buses of the state transport corporation at 53 toll plazas from May 31 midnight.
Making a statement in the Legislative Assembly, Fadnavis said the decision on the levy of toll at five entry and exit points in Mumbai and on Mumbai-Pune Expressway would be taken after the high level committee headed by Additional Chief Secretary (public works) submits its report on July 31.
The following are 12 the toll plazas which have been completely scrapped by the Maharashtra government.
· Toll naka at Wadwal on Alibaug-Pen-Khopoli Road
· Toll naka at Shikrapur on Wadgaon-Chakan-Shikrapur (state highway 55)
· Toll naka at Mohod on Mohod-Kurul-Kamti-Mundrup (state highway 13)
· Toll naka at Bhandara dongar on Wadgaon-Chakan_Shikrapur (state highway 55)
· Toll naka at Kusdab on Tembhurni-Kurdewadi-Barshi-Latur Road (stat e highway 77)
· Toll naka at Akole on Ahmednagar-Karmala-Tembhurni Road (state highway 141)
· Toll naka at Dhakambe on Nashik-Wani Road (state highway 17)
· Toll naka at Nanduri on Nashik-Wani Road (state highway 17)
· Toll naka at Shraptshrangi Gadh (checknaka) on Nashik-Wani Road (state highway 17)
· Toll naka near Tapi bridge on Bhusawal-Yawal-Faijpur Road
· Rawaltekdi toll naka ‹
· Tadali toll naka on railway over bridge at Chandrapur (MSRDC road)
