Goa casino employee booked for passing fake currency
An offshore casino employee in Goa has been booked for depositing three counterfeit Rs.1,000 notes at a bank here, police said Friday.
 
 Ashok Sahoo, manager at the State Bank of India (SBI) treasury branch here, said Prashant Surlikar, of Goa Carnival and Leisure Private Ltd, deposited the three counterfeit notes "claiming to be genuine", a police statement said.
 
 "The notes were detected as forged by the bank authorities. We have filed an offence under sections 489 (a) (e) of the Indian Penal Code," the police statement said.
