'Hate pamphlets' in Madhya Pradesh exhort voters to free India of Bangladeshi infiltrators
The air is surcharged with ‘hate pamphlets’ distributed among voters provoking them to ‘free India of three crore Muslim infiltrators from Bangladesh’ and ‘free Kashmir of traitors’ ahead of the next round of polling in Madhya Pradesh on Thursday.

In a door-to-door campaign in the western part of the state, workers of the right-wing Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) are distributing booklets carrying objectionable messages.

Ironically, Shivraj Singh Chouhan – the BJP chief minister of the state, has not yet commented on the controversial material. The pamphlets do not bear a party name or symbol, but feature photographs of Narendra Modi, the BJP's prime ministerial candidate, and Rajnath Singh, the party president.

The controversial booklets ask people to vote, urging "if not this time, then never" while underscoring "the country needs a majority government, the country needs a stable and strong government."

Opinion polls project the BJP in a leading position, wresting maximum seats in the parliamentary election, though it is mum on whether the party will land a majority, allowing it to form the government without needing to win over more allies than the 25 it currently has.
