Hemant Soren took oath as

Ranchi, Jharkhand: Hemant Soren took oath as Jharkhand's eleventh chief minister at a mega event in Ranchi this afternoon, days after his Jharkhand Mukti Morcha won a clear majority in the state elections, along with ally Congress and the RJD. This is the second time Soren has been sworn in as chief minister, and today's event-where leaders across the political spectrum were present-has been seen as a demonstration of unity in opposition.

At Ranchi's Morabadi ground, Governor Droupadi Murmu administered  Soren's oath of office and secrecy. Participants included Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee, CPM leader Sitaram Yechury, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, and DMK leader MK Stalin.
