High Court rejected Chida

On Tuesday, the Delhi High Court dismissed the anticipatory bail of former finance minister P Chidambaram in the case of INX Media being investigated by the Central Investigation Bureau and the Directorate of Enforcement.

The court had reserved its order on January 25 this year. The court hasn’t ruled on the senior Congress leader’s request to give him three days interim protection from arrest to go in appeal.

The INX media case relates to the supposed irregularities in the clearance of the Foreign Investment Promotion Board to the media group for obtaining foreign funds at a time when P Chidambaram was the Union Finance Minister.

On May 15, 2017, the CBI had registered an FIR alleging irregularities in the clearance of the FIPB, a year later the Enforcement Directorate lodged a case for money laundering.
