New Delhi: On Thursday, a petition was lodged in the Supreme Court challenging the decision of the government to impose constraints in Jammu and Kashmir after the revocation of Article 370 in the state. Congress activist Tehseen Poonawalla submitted the petition, who said on Thursday he will seek an urgent hearing. Poonawalla has attempted "immediate curfew / restrictions withdrawal and all other regressive measures including blocking telephone lines, web and news channels."

Poonawalla has also sought the immediate release of political leaders  “illegal custody since 04.08.2019” and setting up of a judicial commission to visit J & K to assess the ground reality.
