Srinagar: An Indian soldier was killed as Pakistan violated the ceasefire of the LoC on Saturday evening in Jammu and Poonch district of Kashmir, officials of the defence said.

Pakistani troops initiated an unprovoked ceasefire violation at around 3.45 p.m., according to a statement from the defence. The Indian soldier was killed by firing small arms and mortar shells along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch's Degwar district.
