Industry captains converge for `Progressive Punjab' summit
Leading industrialists from across the country Monday converged here for the first `Progressive Punjab'  summit being held by the overnment to attract investment to the state.
 
 Steel tycoon Lakshmi Niwas Mittal, ITC chairman Y.C. Deveshwar, Hero MotoCorp's Sunil Kant Munjal, Biocon chairperson Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, Bharti Airtel chairman Sunil Mittal, G.V.K. Reddy from GVK Group and other leading industrialists have come here for the summit.
 
 Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal said that Punjab was on the threshold of breaking into the big league of industrial development. He urged the industry captains to invest in Punjab.
 
 "Our mission is to make Punjab the most preferred investment destination in the country. We are welcome to suggestions from the industry to make that change to take Punjab forward," Badal said.
 
 "We have excellent work environment, excellent infrastructure and incentives in Punjab," Badal added.
 
 The two-day summit will have various sessions on the scope of industrial development and investment in the state.
