Patna: Reacting to the Union Budget announcement on Bihar receiving a special package of Rs 26 thousand crore in the Union Budget, JDU Spokesperson Neeraj Kumar said, “According to the information we have received, Rs 26,000 crore has been approved for Bihar in the field of road construction. This is reassuring news.”
He added, “We were less than the developed states on national highways. When Chief Minister Nitish Kumar ji was the Surface Transport Minister of the Government of India, he had built a 1365-kilometer national park in Bihar, which was included in the Prime Minister’s package of Rs 1 lakh crore. The package that has been received is reassuring news, but the criteria for special status will have to be changed.”
Furthermore, Neeraj Kumar said, “When the hilly region was in Bihar and when Jharkhand (and Bihar) were together, Lalu Prasad Yadav did not remember that anything special needed to be done.”
