Karthik Pournima ,worshipping Lord Karthikeya ,Son of Lord Shiva ,was observed in all Hindu temples where the idols of Lord Karthikeya was there.Thousands of devotees especially from Maharashtrian community visited the Asthika Samaj at Matunga and at Sri Sankara mattham  to pray to God to give them Peace, Prosperity during the year.Devotees visit the temples in the morning with Peacock feather and place it before the Lord Karthikeya .

Kartika Poornima  is a Hindu, Jain and Sikh holy festival, celebrated on the Purnima (full moon) day .. It is sometimes called Deva-Diwali  – the festival of lights of the Gods.
