President Ram Nath Kovind said that the Kathua rape case is a shame to the country and it is the responsibility of the society to ensure security for the girls in the country. The President expressed his displeasure while addressing the 6th convocation of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, in Jammu.
"An innocent girl was brutally raped and killed recently. It is a shame that these type of incidents are happening in the country even after 70 years of independence. It is the responsibility of the society to ensure that these incidents won't happen to our ladies and girls", said the President.
