Kejriwal advertised simplicity, hence getting slapped: Parrikar

Advertising and amplification of his simplicity is the reason why AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal is getting slapped every now and then, Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said at a public meeting Wednesday.
"He advertised his simplicity. That's why he is getting slapped," Parrikar told a public meeting in Panaji. However, he quickly added that violence is not right. The Aam Aadmi party (AAP) has been slapped and roughed up on several occasions while on Lok Sabha election trail.
Parrikar also said that India discovered his own simplicity only after the former chief minister of Delhi advertised and amplified the virtue on a national scale. "He (Kejriwal) made me famous…. He brought simplicity into fame. Now I am getting calls from Chennai, Kolkata, etc. Every one is asking me about simplicity now," he said.
Parrikar also said that simplicity is a relative issue using Mahatma Gandhi's garb as an illustration. "Had Mahatma Gandhi worn a dhoti in the impoverished Konkan belt, his simplicity would not have been noticed," he said.
