Kumbh Mela receives UNESC

ME News Bureau: The inter-governmental committee for the safeguarding of the intangible cultural heritage, of the UNESCO, has recognised 'Kumbh Mela' as the world's largest peaceful gathering of pilgrims. The festival celebrated once in 12 yrs is held in Allahabad, Haridwar, Ujjain and Nasik on a rotational basis. Many rituals related to worship & ritual cleansing in holy rivers in India is also performed.
