Well-known sculptor Dr Uttam Pacharne, former chairman of Lalit Kala Academy, was posthumously given the Roop Dhar Lifetime Achievement Award at the recent 132 edition of the All India Annual Art Exhibition of the Bombay Art Society at Jehangir Art Gallery Mumbai, inaugurated by Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais.
The Governor also presented the Bendre-Hussain Scholarship, Sangeeta Jindal Scholarship and Sandhya Mishra Scholarship to selected artists. In addition, gold medals were awarded to the winners of the exhibition.
Senior artist Manoj Joshi, President of Bombay Art Society Rajendra Patil, Vikrant Manjrekar, Chandrajeet Yadav, Surendra Jagtap, artists, office bearers and art lovers were present at the function.
