Maha Governor asks Social Justice deptt to ensure spending of budgetary funds

The Governor of Maharashtra K. Sankaranarayanan today asked the State department for social justice to ensure that every rupee budgeted for the department actually reaches to the people.
Mentioning that the Social Justice and Empowerment is one of the most important departments, having the responsibility and the mandate to work for the social, educational and economic empowerment of the disadvantaged and marginalised sections of society, the Governor called for effective implementation of various schemes of the Government so that the benefits of these schemes actually reach the target population.
The Governor was speaking at the State function to present various awards for social justice at Y B Chavan auditorium in Mumbai on Tuesday (4 Feb). Minister for Social Justice Shivajirao Moghe, Minister of State Sanjay Savkare, officials and people from across the State were present on the occasion.
Eleven organisations and 31 individuals were presented the late Vasantrao Naik Samaj Bhushan Puraskar, Shahu-Phule-Ambedkar Puraskars, Padmashree Dadasaheb Gaikwad Puraskars and Saint Rohidas Puraskars at the function.
