This time the assembly polls in Maharashtra are witnessing major realignment among coalition partners, paving way for formation of new fronts with splits in the erstwhile allies.
Congress and NCP are letting no stone unturned in besmirching the images of each other. Every speculation came to naught with the resignation of Deputy CM Ajit Pawar leading to an end to the decade old alliance that had survived political tsunamis earlier.
Failing to reach a consensus on seat sharing, the BJP and Shiv Sena, too, snapped 25-year-old ties. The smaller outfits also changed their loyalties.
MNS on the other hand is campaigning vigorously, pulling up its socks ready with arsenals to topple its opponents.
Now, this could baffle many a political pundits with the rise of a new formation constituting NCP-Sena combine – given the Sharad Pawar’s proximity to Matoshree.
However, political grapevine in the nation’s finance capital believes the reunion of the estranged Thackeray siblings: Uddhav and Raj.
The Congress is hobnobbing with Samajwadi Party in order to garner minorities’ votes.
