Make Administration More Cutting-Edge and Inclusive: Maha Governor to IITs

Addressing the registrars’ conference of Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) from across the country yesterday at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai, Governor of Maharashtra Ramesh Bais urged them to make administration ultra-modern and friendly to students.

The Governor specifically expressed the need to create a safer atmosphere for the students from rural areas and those from scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, minority communities and transgenders. The Governor further called for efforts to increase the percentage of female students in IITs.

The IIT registrars are in Mumbai to attend a two-day conference organised by IIT Mumbai on the theme ‘Building World-Class University Administration’.

Dean (Administration) of IIT Mumbai prof. Nand Kishore, registrar Ganesh Bhorkade, prof. Philipos, Dr. Nayan Dabholkar and registrars of 18 IITs were present at the conference.
