Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was elected from Rajasthan unopposed to the Rajya Sabha. He was declared unopposed elected as the deadline for the withdrawal of by-poll nominations ended.

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot congratulated Singh on his election to the Upper House of Parliament. Singh was nominated by Congress, while the BJP did not nominate any by-poll candidates, which was necessary owing to the death of Madan Lal Saini, Rajya Sabha MP.
