The Centre is set to remove the security category of SPG provided to Manmohan Singh, former Prime Minister.

According to MHA sources, "The present security cover evaluation is a periodic and professional threat perception-based practice that is solely based on the secuirty agencies ' professional evaluation."

Manmohan Singh who was the Prime Minister of the country between 2004-2014 will continue to get Z+ security.
