Media, opposition not acknowledging our good work: Akhilesh

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav Friday said his party needed to take some lessons in political management and rued the fact that while his government was doing some good work in the state, the media and opponents were not acknowledging it.
Speaking at a function at his official residence here to inaugurate the 102 ambulance service for pregnant women and children, he said schemes like free laptop distribution and others have been largely ignored by the media whereas this work would have taken five years in other states.
He also refuted the charge that the Samajwadi Party was dominated by Muslims and said this was a wrong charge as the party belonged to everyone – the poor, farmers and the downtrodden sections of society.
Referring to work done by the state's health department like free medicines and X-rays for patients at government hospitals, the chief minister said he was sure the 102 ambulance scheme would go a long way in helping pregnant women and children in availing medical facilities.
