Metro crosses 4.5  lakh ridership
The recently launched Mumbai Metro created a record by carrying over 4.5 lakh people on Sunday (June 22, 2014). The mark was achieved in a record time of less than three weekssince inception of commercial operation of Mumbai Metro that connects 11.40 km long highly congested stretch between east and west of Mumbai.
 
Informs a MMOPL spokesperson, “Sunday was one of the busiest days for all of us, as we witnessed huge crowds, especially a lot of children. Said Dhrumil Shah a commuter from Ghatkopar who was amongst the 4.5 lakh who travelled on Sunday, “It took me an hour to buy ticket as, there was a huge queue. But I enjoyed every moment of it.”
