Power system interface failure is the main reason cited by the MMRDA for the March 15 stalling of their Monorail services.

An official from MMRDA says, “Because of problems with Scada (supervisory control and data analysis), 11 people remained stranded for an hour and had to be brought down to land with a cherry picker.” Scada is an automated system for centralized traction power control.

The system helps technical staff in locating fault in minimum time so as to take corrective measures and restore power supply.
