New Delhi, March 14: A moderate intensity earthquake measuring 5.9 in the richter scale, rocked the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Tuesday morning according to administration officials. 

According to the IMD, the earthquake, termed moderate, occurred at a point 6.4 degrees north latitude and 92.2 degrees east longitude in Nicobar Islands. It was experienced at around 8.21 am and since then the state has been put on alert for any kind of after shocks.
