The Prime Minister Narendra Modi may expand his cabinet in the third week of June to accommodate a few more MPs in his council of ministers, well-placed sources revealed.
In his second cabinet meeting on May 29 – just three days after taking over as PM, Modi directed his ministers to work hard to produce result in a time-bound manner. “We will assess our performance in hundred days,” he reportedly told them.
According to political grapevines, Modi announced his plan for cabinet expansion to assauge few disgruntled MPs – both from the BJP as well as its allies.
Earlier, Shiv Sena had expressed its displeasure over ministry allocation, particularly to its MP Anant Geete.
