Modi's development agenda has won: BJP

The BJP Sunday said the development agenda of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has led to the party's performance in Maharashtra assembly polls.
"People of Maharashtra have shown faith in Modi-ji's agenda of good governance. We are thankful to the people of Maharashtra," BJP leader Kirit Somaiya said Sunday.
"The second largest party has just half of our strength," he said.
He said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will form the government as it is emerging as the largest party but refused to comment on possibilities of forging an alliance.
The BJP is so far leading on 110 seats in Maharashtra and has won one seat. The Shiv Sena is second leading on 54 seats, and victorious on two in the 288-seat assembly.
Earlier, party spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain said the poll results in both Maharashtra and Haryana showed people's faith in Modi.
"The results show people have faith in Modi's leadership," Hussain told media in New Delhi.
"Just as people voted for him in the Centre, they are looking for him in states too."
In Haryana, the BJP has won two seats so far, and is leading in 48 constituencies in the 90-seat assembly.
