Multi-cornered contest In Kalyan East

P.V.Anand

Kalyan east constituency is pitted with ten candidates in fray, everyone trying to pull voters from all walks of life right from the start of the  election campaigns.

As it looked to be a multiangled contest in the beginning is slimmering to a triangle or a quadrangle contest.

A major break in the coalitions in Maharashtra among political parties ,With churns from political parties on seat allotments and many eager candidates willing to contest  has tightened the ends with almost all parties singling a candidate from its respective constituency for the elections , so as to get proximity with its people.

Sitting MLA Ganpat .K.Gaikwad (Independent) a very prominent figure in the constituency is what people say who had earlier won the same seat as an  independent  pulls a good clout of supporters,   people say Ganpat to be a soft spoken and a man who has delivered a good chunk of assistance to them amid tight opposition, will that be sufficient to pull up a chance this time .

Over all with 10 contestants in the fray   and the ultimatum on the campaings coming to winding up speaking with citizens , looks to be a tough contest  among ,  Nilesh Shinde (NCP) ,Vishal. Pavshe (BJP) Vijay Mishra (INC), Gopal.Landge(SS) Nitin Nikam ( MNS)  all with hawk eye and trying their best not leaving any stone unturned , This situation leaves with a pentagonal fight.

Whereas speaking with few others it sounds to be

”Ganpat is a local citizen he has done ,may be not up to the mark  still has a chance”.

“Nilesh.Shinde, already a corporator  also edges up but will have to see how far NCP votes get split as there is already a NCP corporator who has moved from NCP to BJP and contesting from the same constituency,”Enjoys a good junk of polularity as family has been in politics for quite some time

“Shiv sena” , with the mahayuthi cracking , and the candidate not being a local brings a difference as seen in earlier elections .”as people prefer a local contestant , though sena is familiar in kalyan.

“BJP   having a joy ride with the Modi wave, has a negative pull as the contestant is a NCP corporator  who has quit NCP and contesting on a BJP ticket, speaking with a prowling eye says will have to wait and watch.

“INC  only north indian candidate  among the contestant and a local resident   , with a major chunk of voters from the same bastion could sneak in.

MNS , again a local candidate ,also a corporator will get good numbers but looks difficult to touch the finishing lines.

As it roared in the Lok Sabha elections “Modi factor and all other parties to one fray”, it resembles “Independent candidate Ganpat and all others to one fray “.

Looks like turning to be a Triangle fight on the day of polling, or could be a forth sneaking past all.
