The state’s Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB), inquiring into the bribery charges against an Andheri RTO official, Rajendra Nerkar, is ready to register a disproportionate assets case against him.

On April 18, ACB detained Nerkar and his accomplice Jaiprakash Dalvi while allegedly accepting a Rs 1,500-bribe from a private bus operator. The police seized Rs 80 lakh cash, documents of flats in Mumbai and Nashik and two shops in Nashik, 25 tola gold and a car. They are planning to open his bank locker. "If he fails to explain the assets recovered from him then we will register a case of disproportionate assets case against him," informed an ACB officer
